Decadent Chocolate Cups

A little of this rich dessert goes a long way.

Ingredients (makes 4 demitasse servings):

  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp liquor (you can use hazelnut liquor, dark rum, or peppermint extract)
  • whipped cream (you can buy it already made or make your own by beating 1 cup of whipping cream and 2 tbsp of sugar until rich and creamy)

Combine chocolate chips, egg, sugar, salt and liquor in a blender.  Heat milk in a sauce pan over medium heat until it comes to a boil.  Slowly pour it over the ingredients in the blender.  The hot milk will cook the egg and melt the chocolate chips.  Blend for 1 minute or until smooth.  Pour equal amounts into 4 small demitasse cups and chill.  Garnish with whipped cream when ready to serve.  Mmmmmmm…….
