Cook Something Bold Day

November 8 represents another little known (and rarely celebrated) holiday.  This day has been dubbed “Cook Something Bold Day”.  Admittedly, we do not serve up spicy Indian or tangy Thai fare to our families on a regular basis.  And we aren’t suggesting that you have to either.  We think being bold in the kitchen just calls for thinking outside the box a little.  We are suggesting maybe trying a new vegetable, adding a little extra seasoning to that chicken, or tossing some spicy sausage into your spaghetti sauce.  Who knows…maybe whatever you try will become a new family favorite!

Don’t be intimidated by uncharted vegetable territory. Mash some turnips and serve them in place of potatoes or swap roasted red peppers for tomatoes. The possibilities to “be bold” are endless!
